I am a professional, full-time wedding photographer. I love capturing the special moments on a bride and groom’s big day. I have a strong documentary approach and try to avoid posing as far as possible.
I strive to capture unique wedding photographs that preserve real beauty and emotion. I don’t believe that there should be a preconceived formula to photographing weddings and prefer to photograph things as they happen, rather than ticking off a checklist of ‘required’ shots.
When you look at your photographs, I want you to remember what your wedding day felt like. Beyond wedding photography I also specialize in family shoots, boudoir shoots, friendship shoots, etc.
Where are you based and what regions/cities/towns do you cover?
I am based in Windhoek, but I'm happy to travel all over Namibia. I love to travel, so I am always excited and ready for a road-trip to reach your destination wedding.
How did you get started in the industry?
I’ve always been the loud, outgoing girl with the camera! In 2011, I traveled to Bangkok, Thailand to teach English. I then later moved to Phuket, where I lived for 2 years to pursue my dream of professional photography. I graduated from the MatadorU Travel Photography program in late 2012. My dream was to become a documentary/travel photographer for National Geographic, but after returning to Namibia, my wedding photography career kicked off with a bang, and I am still going strong.
What inspires you?
People inspire me!!
I can photograph various weddings at the same venue, but it is the PEOPLE that I am photographing who CREATE the moment!!! I prefer intimate occasions. I love taking photographs of people who share my vision and I know looking back at your wedding photos, they will remind you that you are loved.
My photography is about capturing the moments and the essence of the person in those moments. My style is contemporary / photo journalistic where the aim is to photograph real unscripted moments. My aim is to create a piece of art. My style embodies creativity is quirky, soulful, memorable and magical.
Favourite Place in Namibia?
The Moonlandscape near Swakopmund. The Caprivi region, and the Namib Desert.
What advice would you give the My Big Day Brides and Grooms?
GIVE YOURSELF ENOUGH TIME this is so so so very important.
To ensure that you have stunning, memorable couple photos, please make sure that you set out enough time for the 2 of you to be relaxed, alone, happy and in love. Time and time again, I see it happening, where the whole wedding day is so rushed, the bride and groom can barely take it all in and have time to enjoy day.
Another thing that I cannot stress enough is again TIME!!
Schedule your wedding ceremony so, that we will be able to take the couple photos in beautiful, soft, romantic light. I personally prefer to shoot 30min before sunset, and 30min after sunset – it is YOUR big day – the guests can wait, make sure to feed them, entertain them and have the bar open – we won’t take longer than 1.5 or 2 hours – Please help me to help you get perfect wedding photos.
